When does reality become...reality...or...unreality...?


You know, if you know me...I fuckin' hate reality tv shows...most of them at least. Pointless shows that are...pointless. And stupid as fuck! Why make a show that's so stupid...but yet people enjoy them? Shit...I don't get it. But I think it's beyond just pleasure, humor, and entertainment...

I believe that reality tv shows are a distraction to the outside reality that we all live in...Yes, I know we need distractions from negative things sometimes, but...I don't know..."reality" tv shows...? C'mon! It's like everyone's guilty pleasure. Like I said before, I dislike most of them...but a few aren't bad, to be honest. But...how many do you think those shows are scripted? Is that really reality? Shit...reality has taken a whole new meaning...it's takin' over!

Speaking of which...remember...MTV...? Or how about VH1...? WHAT THE HELL HAPPEND TO THOSE, MAN!!?? I remember growing up I used to watch music videos like no tomorrow...dancing, singing, bobbin' my head to the music...those times were the shit! Now...reality has taken over those networks. MTV isn't MTV anymore...More like "RTV"...And who soon followed the reality bandwagon? VH1...and all the other networks I'm sure we all know. I'm upset...I'm disappointed...pissed is a better term. Sad. It's all been gone...

A distraction you say? Yes. Why need such a distraction like reality shows? It's a cover-up to what's going outside our homes...the reality outside. Yeah...maybe a cover-up or denial to the negative reality...and the enjoyment of positive reality. Can't we just go out and enjoy each others company...instead of watching crap on tv? Let's enjoy our lives and not the lives of people on the tube! Who cares about them...It's funny how every week we care so much about other peoples lives in reality tv shows, when we don't care about our own lives. We, too, are our own distractions...are own cover-ups and denials...What happend to those times that were ill? Those are gone, too...

Alright...I don't want to keep dragging you here...who knows, maybe you closed this window because you don't want to read something like this...you probably expected somethin' interesting to read, or just don't care...or even went to another site, like Facebook, MySpace, etc., etc., or hell...maybe watch some REALITY TV before you got to this paragraph...So, I'm just going to leave you with this...and be thinking on your own. Tell me guys what you're thinking...I know there's gotta be someone there that feels me on this one...

Black President

Are you ready for a black president?


Today marks exactly 2 months after Barack Obama was elected for the 44th President of the United States...with that the first African American president in the U.S. With Obama winning Illinois, then Indiana, then taking the overall vote of 284 to 165 over McCain, this was an historic moment, and I can say that I am proud to have taken part of this. I, too voted for Obama, safe to say. This will go down in the history books, folks.

With just less than 3 weeks away from Obama's inauguration on January 20, 2009, I honestly cannot wait! Out with Bush, in with Obama, respectively speaking. (Former) President Bush did his job and I think he still, at leasts, needs to be credited for the work he has layed down for two terms...An applaud. But I believe that Obama will come through much stronger than Bush and he will be the most hardest working president than all the other presidents before him, from Reagan to Bush...again, respectively speaking...and NO I am not being sarcastic at all. I say this because right now as I write this entry, as you guys are waking up ready to make your day...going to your jobs, school, etc., etc., the nation, well...the world is in much more trouble and stress than it was before. From financial situations like the economy, wars, issues with foreign policies, politics, environment...even the government itself, gosh damnit...We need a stronger, wiser, humble, president...and President Obama CAN and WILL do the job for not just the American people...but for all humanity. However, he cannot do this alone...we cannot do this alone, unless we pray to God...ask for blessings...pray for President Obama, to give him the strength, wisdom, and knowledge to tackle the pressures of what he will have to come face-to-face with. See, I bet everyone of us who were growing up wanted to be President of the United States...Well, what do you say and think about it now? It's a tough ass job to be President...as of now, however. The world is in peril...Things are falling apart. Whatever happend to those good old days? It's been gone...24 years of living and I've seen alot of what's around me, good and bad. But this...where's my future going? Where's our damn future going? This younger generation...we need to stand up and better ourselves to better the world that we all live in. Speaking of that...who voted for the 2008 election? I know that I did...not for the hell of it, then I would be shallow, but I voted because I wanted, not for me, but our generation to have a much better life than it was with Bush...I'm tired of that already. I want change and progress...Obama will deliver...

Pardon this lengthy entry, but I must address this to ya'll, my take in all this. I'm not sure how many of you out there are Obama fans, but if you're not...then that's okay with me. But I'm sure you guys have watched and listened to the debates regarding issues that apply to all of us, right?Honestly, I didn't watch all of the debates that were being broadcast live...I wasn't sure who to vote for at first! But thanks to the news and me determined to watch the other debates, further increased my awareness, let alone, my knowledge. I literally thought about my future...and the future of others. I thought about if the world continues as it is and gets a lot worse...we won't even have a future...even the future we dreamt about would change in reality! It wouldn't be the same in our heads! And so, I watched both debates, Obama and McCain, but I was more intrigued with Obama's matters (respects to McCain's matters)...(Oh, before I go any further...I did not vote for Obama because of race, mind you. If you thought I was...what the fuck were you thinking...?) because I really liked his confidence, determination, and strength...he is hungry like a lion and wants a much more better world for us to live in and to enjoy again. Yeah, yeah, yeah...I know you guys have that mentality of, "It's easier said than done, Brian..." go ahead and believe that, but I do not fall into that category of conformity...Okay, have YOU guys paid any attention to 2008's decision? Did you rock the vote? How about the debates and issues being tackled? For those who didn't...then shut the fuck up! Shit, at least give-a-damn of what's going on in the world...you don't want your future to get fucked up now, right?

On January 20, 2009, when President-Elect Barack Obama will be sworn in as the 44th President of the United States and his title of President Barack Obama...think about this: God, prayer, hope, change, progress, families, other countries, soldiers, economy, diseases, hunger/famine, health, environment, wars, terrorism, crime, violence, natural disasters, other people around you, and our younger generation, our generation, our future, our future-futures to come...if change, hope, and progess is to come, will it be followed to our children's-children and their future...or will we be pedaling back and repeating ourselves...?


I was born under Reagan...grew up with two Bush's...and now a man under Obama...
Living with the cold war...living the first Gulf War...living 9/11...living with recession...what's our future...?

What's good ya'll? Had a great weekend? I know I did...beats stayin' at home. (Before viewing, here's a little description about the film, courtesy of lancerpika...)


Was filmed for the Compass Film Academy 24 hour Film Festival which was on April 18-19. The teams were given 4 elements that had to incorperated into the 5 minute short films and return the film to Compass in 24 hours.

The elements were:
-Theme: Passing on a tradition
-Prop: Remote control
-Movie Line: "We all go a little mad sometimes" ...............from the movie Psycho
-Location: Baseball diamond

From there, we had to create a basic story including the elements and make a script, go out and shoot it, and then edit it.........I helped out a little on the shooting, until I had enough footage to begin to edit it all together......

Pressing On Toward The Goal

Topic of discussion tonight from the Group was goals. I agree what Pastor Edward was saying, and I'm sure all of us fall into this category, including yours truly, guilty...that when we make those yearly resolutions, whether one or two things...maybe twenty things, that those are not met. Meaning, very few don't get accomplished, if not none of them, because of our neglect and ignorance. However, some people can accomplish those resolutions. (Props to those who can). It's easier said than done...I bet that's what we all do. Versus goals. Those are different. Goals can be accomplished when we put our hearts and minds to it and...well...actually do it! It's that strive, the drive...that hunger.

If say...you had 30 things that needed to be accomplished, goals/resolutions, versus just 1 or 2...it's better that you have just those one or two...maybe three things accomplished because too many can result in failure and lack of getting all of them done...So focus on one thing at a time...Focus on that one that you want to get accomplished...have that desire. I don't know how people can have so many things that they would like to accomplish...you'd have to be a really strong, motivated person to do that...I admit, sometimes I envy those who can...

So, without further ado...I'd like to share a passage from the Bible from the book of Philippians chapter 3:12-16...hope this can be an implement for you for a great year in 2009, as it sure did to me...

¹²Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.¹³Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,¹⁴I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.¹⁵All of us who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you.¹⁶Only let us live up to what we have already attained.

Take this into consideration to yourself...and well, maybe to others, and it will make you a much stronger, better person. If you missed tonight, this is what we discussed. I just wanted to share to you this because it is true that we always get caught up with resolutions that are half-assed, and the passed, which I think it is important to just forget them...yet forgive, if there's anything that needs to be forgiven, and move forward to the future. Don't get caught up with resolutions vs. goals by saying it and not being able to do it because that, to me, is disrespecting yourself and being ignorant. Accomplish by actually doing it! Don't be half-assed about it...

Let God in, because God is love...Peace ya'll...


Here are my personal goals for 2009 that I'd like to share:
1) Get back on the motivation train...
2) Finding inner-strength (mentally & emotionally speaking...)
3) Situated & stable...then attack when ready...
4) Less worries of what is around me...stay focused on now...
5) Finding...Ms. Right...?

The NHL Outdoor Classic - Wrigley Field, Chicago

Forgive the obvious baseball allusion, but from the cool retro uniforms worn by the Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks, to the 40,818 fans bundled up and jammed into venerable Wrigley Field belting out the national anthem en masse, to the old-style black fedoras sported by the Detroit coaching staff, to the wildly entertaining game itself, the 2009 Winter Classic was another red-letter day for the league.

For the second straight year, the NHL has taken its game outdoors, and this success at Wrigley virtually guarantees the Winter Classic will become an annual event and the National Hockey League will carve its own place on the sporting calendar with its Jan. 1 hockey lovefest.

For a league that continues to wage an uphill battle to establish itself as a pan-American sport, it has hit on a signature event that should continue to draw the casual fan for years to come, regardless of where the game goes.

The Stanley Cup playoffs will always be the league's most dramatic event, but by its very nature, interest narrows as teams are eliminated. In a surprisingly short period of time, the Winter Classic has become something that fans, regardless of allegiance, will be drawn to, whether it's the atmosphere, the drama or the total buy-in from players.

"This is what we hoped it would be," NHL commissioner Gary Bettman said not long after the Red Wings beat the Blackhawks by a 6-4 count. "It's unique in the way that it takes the game back to its roots. It's unique in the way the players react to it because it's so special to be there on the ice.

"It's something that we know can be a special part of our game if we do it right."

Credit the league for taking a quantum leap forward after the critical success of last year's first Winter Classic in Buffalo.

New Years Aftermath

Happy New Year to all! Damn...I really partied out like-a-mother. But gotta say it was fun. Let's see...party-hopped here and there...few drinks...good friends, good food. DAMN THAT FOOD. Ate so much. But yummy. The BOMB FOOD YUMMY, SON...

Not sure what else to say...I'm still kind of disorien-tarted from this week, but hey...peace and love to the peoples I held it down with...and for the people I called/texted for New Years greetings (April, I see you!) For those who didn't answer, Happy New Years! Don't blame me if I didn't hit you up...at least I'm saying it here, right? That's if you guys read any of my entries on my blog...Still love ya'll.

One more thing, since it's the new year...let's start off clean and forget about the past...if you still have overwhelming resentments over someone, solve them as soon as possible...let's not hate on each other. Why? You never know the people...the cypher of friends, family, and hey...maybe strangers for gosh sakes, will be gone. Word? Let's not repeat what had happened in the last year, or the other years before, to this year in '09...simple as that.

Okay...I'm going to make this really clear (ya'll know who you are on this one...) if you had anything to do with me, in a negative way, you know that I forgive you...and NO, I DON'T HATE. If I had anything to do with you, also in a negative way, I personally want to say that I am sorry...Don't believe me? Tough. But I don't want to lose anybody in my cypher of friends. I bet ya'll don't either, right? We all should take off the blues...

Alright, this was supposed to be my first entry in the new year...my New Years Aftermath. So dig this...you guys know that I have a new car now...and it's great. No complaints. But damn, this is the fifth flat tire in less than a week!!! (I know right...!?) How the fuck does that happen!!?? Oh, it gets better...NO SPARE TIRE! I have to wait for a new one. The above photograph is the fifth...notice the nail in the side...LONG NAIL I might add. Talk about karma...ugh...
